Never us a wire brush in an airgun. The bore and rifling volition be damaged as in most cases they are fabricated of softer steel than a powder burner. many airguns are merely lined past a tube and damaging that is irreparAble.

just nutrient for thought!!!

I advise that you never use a metal brush. There are nylon brushes available and that is sufficient.

Goo gone seems to get things pretty clean for me, no issues with it then far. I did read somewhere it tin can exist bad for rubber, simply if your running dry patches through until clean yous should exist removing most of the goo gone anyways.

Thanks to all.  Tried the Goo-Gone method, no bronze or nylon brushes, and it really removed a lot stuff.  Now to shoot and run into how information technology does clean.

Also try Ballistol. Some say information technology works better than goo-gone. I take just used Ballistol and its rubber for all materials

Clean??? What's to clean? I've had my .177 Gamo about 8 years and but needed to clean it twice and 1 of those times was when I took information technology out of the box!
Break information technology open, merely don't cock it.
Use a minor wood dowel and some Q-tips. Don't shoot the Q-tips, button then through from the breach with the dowel.  A affect of rubbing alcohol on the showtime Q-tip or ii and leave the residual dry.

Pause information technology open, but don't cock information technology.
Use a pocket-sized wood dowel and some Q-tips. Don't shoot the Q-tips, push then through from the alienation with the dowel.  A touch on of rubbing alcohol on the outset Q-tip or two and exit the rest dry.

I propose yous go to the GTA library and read up become to All about lubricants. there ton of good info in there
IMO powder burners have completely unlike cleaning needs and requirements than that of an airgun- i.e. heat, lead, copper, brass and corrosive powders etc. to proper name a few.
